Hi there,
Chelsie from the Ilkley Gazette here. I’ve seen that The Manor House pub in Otley has been boarded up and I was just wondering if you knew anything about this?
Best,
Chelsie Sewell

Hi Chelsie, Eddie here from Otley Pub Club. I trust our press officer Greg Mulholland has been in touch with all the latest on The Manor House?

Thanks for the monthly pub recognition.Unfortunately you have stated Andy&Monica moved into Red Lion as opposed to Whitakers.
Cheers
Andy
Cheers Andy. Yes, it’s been spotted. Our pub-whisperer, who went to see Andy for the piece, has been reprimanded! I’ve changed the on-line newsletter but unfortunately the emails already went out! Apologies.
Thanks for letting us know
Eddie
Hello is Cross Pipes open yet or still closed for refurb?
Hi, thanks for your interest. As far as we are aware the CP is still closed for refurb after landlord Ian bought the pub from owners Admiral Taverns. We appreciate it’s been some time, but I guess the current financial situation, it’s understandable there are issues. Watch our social media channels or monthly newsletter for news as soon as we get it. Cheers, Eddie
Cross Pipes now for sale as “Former Public House”.
Another one gone….
Yes Phil. Hopefully and fingers crossed, it gets taken up by another pub operator.
Regards
Eddie
Good work with the Yorkshire Post article!
From Thwaites corporate statement “Who would have believed, six generations later, that his family would proudly continue the journey he started and remain faithful to his principles – still striving for brewing perfection, now with a growing collection of pubs, inns, hotels and spas.”
With the Manor House, the mask has slipped revealing that Thwaites Group have no interest in preserving historic pubs for the community once they have relinquished ownership.
Shame on them – I for one will now boycott Thwaites and wish you success in resisting the proposed change of use with Leeds City Council
Hi Nigel
Thanks for your message and sentiments. It’s truly shameful how Thwaites have behaved over the sale of The Manor, especially when they had a very reasonable offer from a local Brewery to buy and restore this fabulous pub.
I echo your thoughts regarding Thwaites pubs!
Regards, Eddie Conneely (OPC)
