What we offer

A selection of around 70 beers from around the world, including three casks and six kegs. Bespoke, ground to order coffee and a wide range of herbal teas are also available. The atmosphere of a continental beer cafe in the centre of Otley.

The North Bar Social History

Spanning two floors, North Bar Social boasts the same commitment to providing the very best beers in the world in a cosy and welcoming atmosphere. Opened in 2013, North Bar Social gets stuck in to the already bustling Otley bar and pub community.

Proud host of the North Bar Social Cycling Club, with cakes made especially for us by our local boss baker, we’re all about getting stuck into local goings on. Our upstairs room is perfect for group and club bookings too!

A note about North Bar: North Bar opened on New Briggate in Leeds in July 1997. Why did we open a bar? Because we wanted somewhere ace to drink. At that time, Leeds was a bar desert. We opened with a draught selection which included Kronenbourg, Beamish Red, Guinness and Fosters… and we cared passionately about our customers. That hasn’t changed. Fortunately, the variety of drinks available for us to put on the bar has. The Chimays and Duvels inspired us to stock better drinks. Anchor Liberty Ale inspired us to stock American beers. The first draught Erdinger, Sierra Nevada, Brooklyn Lager in the UK were all poured first at North Bar. Over the years, we’ve steadily expanded to six venues, and we’re equally proud of every single one of them. We find it difficult to explain what North Bar is. We find it strange to describe ourselves as “a brand”; we believe that our bars are living, breathing things, and the people who come to them play a massive part in that. Our values are built on the values of our customers and what they ask for: unparalleled service, great drinks, an inviting atmosphere and an inspiring place to be. Our staff are passionate about realising those values every single day, and the people who visit our venues breathe life into them. We’ve had our ups and downs, learned from a few mistakes, but we’re proud of what we are, what we do, how we do it and how our bars play a role in the communities they operate in. And we’re always working on getting better and better.
