At the OPC Committee meeting on Thursday November the 5th, we discussed how much sponsorship money we already had, an
d how much more we hoped to raise, for the printing of version 2 of The Historic Otley Ale Trail. We’re almost at the point where we can go ahead now, and we’re going
to be making arrangements for the new leaflet to be distributed to all the usual tourist information offices and visitor attractions in a wide area across West and North Yorkshire.
The descriptions of all the pubs and the services each one provides are being double-checked, so we’ll be ready to go to press within a few weeks. Version 2 will include the 2 newest pubs in the OPC ‘family’ – The North Bar Social and The Otley Tap House – and The Bridge will join the ranks of ‘lost’ and historic pubs that make the Ale Trail leaflet such a unique and informative historic guide for visitors to Otley.
At the Bonfire Night meeting, the OPC committee also discussed some exciting new initiatives that we aim to take forward over the next 12 months, which we hope will not only benefit the local pubs and their trade, but will also raise the profile of Otley yet again in the National media, and hopefully attract even more visitors to the town. So look out for further details on this website and in our regular email newsletters!
