Otley Pub Club welcomes and supports the 22nd Black Sheep Otley Folk Festival
Otley Pub Club are proud to support the Black Sheep Otley Folk Festival, Otley’s biggest annual event and a big boost to tourism in Otley and to the town’s famous pubs in particular.
The 22nd Otley Folk Festival takes place 20th-22nd September and the town and its pubs will be alive with music, dance and visitors and locals enjoying the atmosphere.
Otley Pub Club have met with Otley Folk Festival organiser, Steve Fairholme, to discuss how Otley Pub Club and Otley Folk Festival can work together and with the close association that the Festival hjas with Otley pubs, this make a natural partnership. Otley Pub Club are promoting the Folk Festival to its members.
The Folk Festival itself takes place in several venues in the town – the Methodist Hall, Korks Wine Bar, the Rugby Club, Cricket Club, Labour Rooms and Otley pub the Horse and Farrier. At the same time, Otley’s many pubs stage sessions or other live music and morris dancing during the day.
Two Otley pubs – The Black Horse Hotel and the Horse and Farrier both offer good quality bed and breakfast accommodation and are expected to be fully booked by festival goers and there is also a campsite with a shuttle service.
This year is the first Otley Folk Festival since the publication of Otley Pub Club’s ‘Historic Otley Ale Trail’. The trail has proved a great success, featuring all the town’s pubs and also where the ‘lost pubs’ of the town used to be. The Historic Otley Ale Trail is available in most Otley pubs and also in the Tourist Information Centre at the Library and is also on the Otley Pub Club website with information on Otley’s pubs at www.otleypubclub.co.uk.
Details of the festival, the campsite and how to buy tickets are all available at the Folk Festival website www.otleyfolkfestival.com.
